Subway Area Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Knowledgeable and capable to perform and fulfill all basic essential functions and responsibilities of a Senior Sandwich Artist and Restaurant Manager as outlined in their respective job descriptions.

2. Provides leadership to managers and staff in the geographic area to ensure compliance with standards as set in the SUBWAY Operations Manual and applicable government regulations.

3. Work with staff to achieve sales goals, by using available reports to identify opportunities.

4. Ensures that correct operational procedures are followed and takes corrective action if necessary.

5. Instil a sense of ownership and accountability for money, stocks and company property on the restaurant team.

6. Responsible in the daily movement of money and products

7. Coaches and trains managers, assistant managers, and Senior Sandwich Artists for operational excellence, helps to develop new hire orientation programs and rewards programs, monitors training processes to ensure quality training of employees.

8. Develops and maintains staffing levels for managers and assistant managers. Implements management training.

9. Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc to restaurant team.

10. Supports local and national marketing initiatives.

11. Reports to Directors on the restaurants’ weekly progress and performance. Identify areas of improvement.

12. Completes online coursework on the University of SUBWAY as directed.

Skill qualification standards:

  • Completes prior training and validation as per the syllables for Senior Sandwich Artist through Restaurant Manager.
  • Completes all Senior Sandwich Artist’s assigned courses / curriculum on University of Subway.
  • Excels in all skill qualification standards of a Restaurant Manager
  • Able to successfully manage up to a minimum of 4 restaurants at any one time.
  • Well versed in the day-to-day operational requirements of Subway Restaurant.
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of management methods: Communication, Quality of Operations, Leadership.
  • Able to present findings and provide reasonable justification to Owners for any inconsistencies in the WISR.
  • Uses sales trend information obtained from the WISR or any other reporting platform, to drive sales for restaurants under your care.
  • Must be able to present business performance reports as requested.
  • Achieves KPIs set by Owner.
  • Must be able to co-ordinate multiple tasks while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.
  • Must be able to determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job applicants.
  • Must be able to draw on Operations experience and knowledge of SUBWAY’s procedures to recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.

  • Paperwork & Controls: Control Sheet and WISR Training
  • Interpreting the WISR and Control Sheet
  • Subway Listens Guest Feedback Platform
